The best cure I have found for them is drinking alot of water.  I try to drink at least a gallon a day.  It can be tough in the winter but the summer I drink more.

Im glad mine were not that big. I feal bad for the dog who passed that one. ;). I passed my fair share. When was 14 i broke my neck and pinched my spinal cord leaving me paralized for a while. They left my cathider in me to long and when they removed it it broke loosed all the calcium that was around it. Leaving it in my bladder about a month later i began bassing them. I was wishing i still couldnt feal down there for awhile. I filled up a the bottom of the bottle they give ya to P in. Ive had a few Kidney stones and Laser battles removing them since. The prob is when i was younger they didnt do anything to break them up.

The stone came out of a street dog my wife picked up and she could not urinate without bleeding and a lot of pain.  We took her to the vet and he did surgery to get her cleaned out and she is now fine.  I had no idea they could get that big either.

Cowboy Bob's stone (in his left kidney) was 2.6 cm x 1.8 cm x 1.6 cm.  Yeow!  There sure was no way that stone was gonna move without being blasted.

Jim, what does it cost for an operation like that down there? Up here we were told, when we inquired bout an old dog we had, that it would be $1500+

Jeff:  It cost about $60 and a couple of cold beers.  We are taking the stiches out tomorrow and that will be at leat 6 beers.  This is another world here.  Many surgeries the vet brings his assistant and we do the surgery on the conference table in the patio.
