Ya know it's time to quit when .........
« on: October 24, 2008, 11:00:07 pm »

The saw throws the chain .......  Ya put it back on , turn the saw on its side ,( it being a Stihl , ya physicaly need to put it on its side ) put gas in the oil and oil in the gas ...  :-\  Notice that something aint right while the oil is pouring into the gas tank ::), turn the saw over dump it all out , put the oil and gas in the corect tanks , go back to the alders that through your chain to start with, start the saw only to find that the dam chain is not cutting cause it's on backwards ....  Now choice words sure came out  !!!!!!  I'm going home .....  :-\  :'(

I've put the chain on backwards a couple times. That's when you know that it's time to call it a day.

I hate it when refueling the gas tank and topping off the chain oil, you stop to put the fuel and oil away, pick up the saw to go back to sawing, and then feel the gas pouring out all over you leg.

I bet that I am the only one to ever forget to screw the gas cap back on :).

Once I only partially put the cap on the oil. I was in my shop, and there was oil all over the floor.  ::)

You may well be, but I've forgotten the oil cap before, and that is just as messy. :D

I've never forgot the gas cap or the oil cap, but once I did forget to put either of them back on and got both gas and oil in my boots and pants.   :)

Had a guy first day on the job.  He put a chain on the saw and it wouldn't cut.  He was supposed to know what he was doing, but he spent 5 minutes fooling with the saw and I came by to see why he wasn't cutting.  He didn't have a clue.  One look was enough.  I told him at least he didn't put the bar on upside down.   He quit at the end of the day and I wasn't too disappointed.  He was really embarassed the whole day.

We all screw up.   :D :D  It's bad if you can't figure out how you screwed up.

I hate oil soaked chaps. :D :D

Backwards blades don't cut well on the Woodmizer either. 8) 8)

I just put the chain on and test the saw to see  if it cuts better pulling the saw or pushing the saw. It seems to work better for me if it cuts on the push stroke. I have found no need to put gas or oil in my saw.

I'd a respected him more if he stuck...some people, every thing comes easy,
some have ta struggle...the gazelles quit went gets tough..the other sort doesn't..

i never put a chain on backwards...I did forget to tension the band on the mill once...that's a sick feeling on a spankin' new mill and a new band...

Sounds like time for a flute of chablis, some bread and  cheese  at the recliner.  Of course in front of the window so you can watch the snow.

I put the butt of a 12 guage against a fence post one time to avoid the recoil.  Didn't know a stock could make that many splinters.  I was pretty young at that time.
