Upgraded Peterson
« on: October 21, 2008, 06:28:15 pm »
I recently upgraded my Peterson ATS to a WPF (All Terrain Saw to a Winch Production Frame) and i am real please with the change. I have more than doubled my production while working alone and it is easier to use also. Now don't get me wrong, I liked my ATS but the upgrade was worth the investment. It seems they are going to keep the days at 24 hrs so I had to do something to get my work done faster, especially since I am getting older and seem to tire out before daylight has gone more often than I did just a few years ago.
On a second note, i decided to sell the parts I retired in the upgrade. I will be sorting it out and getting pictures and listing it on the classified in this forum within a few days. My thought are that someone looking to build their own mill could get some good use out of my retired parts.
logging small time for years but just learning how, with a Forest stewardship plan, 2 compact Ford 4x4 tractors, 3point log arch, 8000# class excavator, lifts 2500# and sets logs on mill precisely where needed,  Peterson ATS upgraded to WPF mill, sugar maple/maple syrup a hobby gone amuck.
