I'm a Grandpa . . . . . .
« on: September 23, 2008, 11:52:24 am »
My daughter starting having them at 4 this a.m so they had to take the boys C-Section 2 months early.

Conner 3lbs 14 oz.
Caden  3lbs 12 oz.

They may have to careflight Caden to  Children's Hospital In Dallas but we are hopeful they will not.

My daughter Abby is doing fine as is Conner, but Caden's lungs were not as developed and that is the issue they are watching closely.   Conner's was more developed than they thought was possible at that age so he is not concerning the doctors at this time other than the normal preemie issues.

I am very happy but it's a little reserved until Caden is completely out of the woods.

Pictures to follow in a day or two. Back to the hospital for now. . . . . . .

The oil is all in Texas, but the dipsticks are in D.C.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you for the little lad.

I wish the best for both.  Charlie and I are sitting here cheering them on.

Charlie has twin grandchildren born at 3-3oz and 3-4oz with lungs not fully developed.   They just turned 3 years old june 27th and they are all boy.  What one doesn't think of, the other does.  We have faith that Caden will be just fine.  :)

Hopefully He and Conner will be under Grandpa's feet soon.   We might send them snare drums.  :D

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. We appreciate it.

The boys both got their first helicopter ride to Dallas today not long after I made my post. The "special, specialist" had been called in to take a look and said ship them both.   I like that guy!

Mom is doing great. The boys are expected to be fine they tell us. We are praying that is the case. The dad and my son  went down to Dallas with them, and he called us a few hours ago and said the nurses in Dallas have nicknamed Caden "Firecracker". He moves around all the time, and when they were told how he actually bit the doctor's finger when he came out, one of the nurses said "Well he is just a little firecracker!" and the name stuck.

Caden is the one who they were most worried about, but he has been the most lively, not that Conner has been idle. I watched the video and they both came out like live wires, and you can see clearly on the video where Caden turns his head and literally bites the doctor at like, age 7 seconds. :D

I figured Tom would like Caden's name. :)

How wonderful to be a Granpa!   8)  Congratulations!

My first Grandson was born weighing only 3 pounds even.  He spent two months in the neonatal intensive care.  He will be FIVE in November, and you sure would never know that he had a rough start.

I'll be keeping the whole family in my prayers.

My last daughter was 1 lb 13 oz.  She was born at 25 1/2 weeks.  Prospects were pretty grim.  4 months in the neonatal intensive care unit.  Today she is a freshman at UGA, 18 years old, smart and beautiful.

God blesses.

TT,

May God bless your family.  Hopefully, those little rascals will be crawling all over your sawmill soon.

Yep some folks don't know that is our litter slogan and get a little offended by it. But it's just our way of asking trashers not to trash.

I don't think $1000 is enough.

Keep shooting the juice to em and they'll grow like weeds. I have a niece and nephew that were both preemies with complications. My niece could wear her Daddie's wedding band like a bracelet. couldn't tell it now.

Welcome to the Grandpa faternity, it is great.

Pappy and Mammy (that's us) are keeping the boys tonight again so I thought I would snap a picture. I won't be wearing y'all out on showing them off, but since they were so preemie and are now so healthy, I figured I would give one update here. They are over 10 pounds now.  8)

Look at the pictures in the beginning and try and guess who is who.  ;D

As a proud Grandpa I'll never say that you've shown too many pictures of those cute little guys. :)

What a difference.I'll start the guessing, even though I will probably be wrong.  :(  Conner is on the left and that would leave Caden on the right. Have fun with them.

My daughter just came and got our bundles of joy. I was wrong about them being 10 lbs. though . . . they are just shy of 12! :)

Man I can't keep up with those little buggers.
