Anyone using SSL lightbulbs yet?
« on: August 07, 2008, 01:42:36 pm »
I stumbled across this tidbit looking for something else. This is < a one minute read for those who have not heard about them yet. I hadn't.

Made me wonder if anyone is using them yet. Solid State Lighting

If you progress further in the article, you will find they are nothing more than LEDs. SSL is just a new buzzword for them.

That's true and I think pretty common knowledge, but I have never seen such high numbers (clusters) of diodes in a residential application like this. I just wondered if anyone has used them in their home yet and what the satisfaction level might be. Also if the claims of longevity jibe with reality.
