A good team of horses is an amazing thing. I have a couple freinds that use horses. I won't, however, because the idea of using an animal smarter than me scares me. :-[
I haven`t had horses since I was a kid, my sisters and I each had one, but I still remember them being like large dogs in terms of intelligence and companionship.

I actually was very interested in buying an Awassos, they sent me the dvd to watch it perform. The small skidder offered a remote control winch and a lightweight body (under 10,000lb) and in 2 different motor sizes. After watching the video though, I wasnt' impressed with its performance at all. The skidder seemed to be overworking itself the whole time and honestly my 60hp tractor with a winch would be just as good. Anyhow I ended buying a 1985 John Deere 340 D and absolutely love it. The price of the awassos scared me too (70,000), you could buy a lot of equipment for that!

yeah no kidding about the 70 grand. With skidders ive seen around here you could get a few good used ones for that price. or a good skidder and a truck and trailer to haul it around with.

OESCO, Conway,Ma. (413)369-4335  ask for Howard Boyden. He was probably the person showing them at the Boonville show.

Yes, it was someone from OESCO, probably Howard but I didn`t get his name. Pretty nice fella and didn`t try any hard sell.
