Here is a shot of the end view of the frame I help raise on the 4th of July:
And here is a side view:
He said the cross ties he put between the plates that had dovetail ends dropped right in. They aren't shown in either of these photos.
The rafters have a unique birds mouth joint, that is they have a heel on the inside of the plate. Usually this isn't done, as it is hard to get everything to line up correctly.

I was only there a few hours helping them erect it.
And that is all I was involved with.
They worked on it part time over several years I think, but I don't really know for sure.
This is his second frame. The first one was his house addition.

Jim, the photo which comes up is a not a structure I had much to do with, I helped with a couple of braces and the rigging/raising. Tim B.
