Husqvarna model year identification

I inherited a set of nice Husqvarna saws from a relative.  I am wondering if anyone can tell me from the serial numbers or part number listed on the metal plate the age of the saws?  Can anyone give me details on the identification system that Husqvarna uses on the name plates.  From the Husqvarna website I was able to download the operating manual but it would be nice to know more details. Would a dealer be able to easily tell me this information?  Thanks.

A dealer should not have any problem getting you the info you want from the serials .

I think there are even some threads on here somewhere that describe the serial numbers and where to find the year.

on all of my husky saws the first 2 number of the bottom row are the dates example 06 is 2006 and so on

don't know if yours is the same hope this helps

I was also able to confirm the model year is the first two numbers of the S/N.  The other numbers I am not sure but could be date codes for production?

Some times it is the first didgit only that refer to the year, some times it is the first two, some times the year is there (4-didgit) - and on really old ones there are no reference to the year at all (I believe).........

On numbers with reference to the year, the next two didgits refer to the week of that year - the rest are the number within that week.
