Zackman.........believe me they worth EVERY penny......for winter good heavy kevlar pants (often we see less our legs in snow...if you have snow)and for warm weather lighter chaps that cover also the rear of your calf....a leg or any part of your body ...( no mather what it looks like  ......Hahaha) is priceless..... but we are all the same ,we wait till it happen....then it is to late..use other,s experience ,it is also priceless.....
Today I can walk with some **ease.**...........from knee to the toes I,m blue,,,violet,,,,greenish-yellow......what a mix....but feel LUCKY ??? that my kevlar pants were THICK and covered all around my calf. MAKE YOURSELF A GIFT, Y O U    W O R T H    I T .................Have a nice day.                                Roger

The fully charged cell phone is a good idea, but I've found they don't work (no service) when you need them the most. Another good idea is to wear a whistle on you belt loop or spenders, and their cheap. I wear chaps in summer if it get so hot you can't stand them, its time to quit as you are probably close to dehydration. This winter I tried something new, got some carhart bib overhalls and installed snaps inside to snap my kevlar inserts into. Don't know if they protected me as I got lucky and didn't saw into them. The whistle works when moma is looking for you with coffee  8) .

Whistles suck! :D I layed under a tree once for 3 hours with my lower left leg sticking out at a 90 degree angle blowing my whistle till I was blue in the face. My so called partner was cutting a spur road to a landing while I was falling main right of way. At the end of the day when he finally came looking for me I said, "didn't you hear my whistle????????" He said," I thought it was a bird". After that I started keeping one of those air hornes taped to my suspenders.Fortunately I never had to use it, YET! :D

Well actually, whistles blow.  Maybe that was the problem!  Seriously though, I always wear one but it's really only good to if someone is looking for you.  The cell phone is ok if you work where there is coverage and if you can get to it and make it work.  Lots of places require partners to have radios and check in with each other regularly.  If you have to work alone, like I often do, somebody has to know where you are and what time you will be at home or camp or whatever.  Safety begins between the ears.  Last year our WCB spent a half a million on a campaign to promote their favorite slogan, "common sense won't save your life".  More workers were injured than in previous years.  Go figure.

dont have a camera right handy, well actually i have the camera but for some reason it will only work with its brand specific batteries none else. i might be able to find a pic of the chaps online...heres a pair.

They arent black they are acutally dark blue, they fit better than the ones they give me over at the tech school, for some reason the full wrap chaps have alot of flare on me at the knees so they snag on everything, ive gotten my Dogs caught on them a time or too, scared the hell outa me because i thought it was the chain.

I did not remember the post that you said you got a pair.  :-[  Now I know how to spell rolly now too. I need to take my saw up to him.I don't work on 'em.Just needs to be tuned up and get those heated handles working again.I somehow caught the wire on brush,I guess, and it came unhooked.Hooked it back up and did not work.More to it than that.At least now there is a nice smooth road to streaked Mt.

my house is just about across the road from the post office, its right behind tiltons

BTW i think that the new chaps have 5  layers of kevlar and a 600 denier outer shell. strangly on the bag they came in it says nothing about how many layers of kevlar they have...only the part about 600 denier outer layer. has lots of info about other products but not the one you bought...strange.
