i,ve been wondering what i,de need for a 28x40 foot timberframe shop?? i,de like 12 foot walls and maybe,a loft in the back 18 feet or so..no more then 20 feet.i can get white pine and hemlock for the beams,i,ve never built a timberframe but,i think if i had some plans and they showed me the joints, beam sizes, ect i needed i could do it.
i,ve read all the info on this site about timberframes..thanks..delbert

I think if you have never done it before I woud start out with a small shed.  A 12 x 12 with 6x6 or 4x4 timbers will give you a work out and not kill you at the same time.
Also there are many type of plans styles of building.
