I'm a Jags fan. The Patriots looked awful tough against them. I see a 38 to 24 game with Pats on top. However, I'll be pulling for Tom Coughlin's team.

A buddy from church is coming over.  We're having ribs and assorted junk food.  We didn't want a big production this year.

As for who I'm rooting for, that'd be "not the Patriots".  IMO, the Patriots are like the Yankees...  both define what is wrong with organized sports these days.

So I hope Eli Manning and the Giants kick the crappola out of the Patriots.  It isn't likely but ah well. ;D

I will stay home and watch the game with plenty of food and also work on a paper due tonight. Will have plenty of food. The food tradition is what makes the superbowl so important.

Not so many football fans here I see.  :-\

Well I make up for all of you as I am the biggest fan EVER! Ever since my boys played football in city league, junior high & high school ....I fell in love love with football, can't get enough of it. The 6 months that I cannot view my favorite sport are most difficult for me. Good thing gardening season is during that time, or I would be totally nuts by August.

We are having a quiet night at home this year, the weather is too lousy to go anywhere anyway, and visitors would just in in the way of my viewing pleasure.  :)  In my opinion the Packers game was the final good game of the year, but I won't miss the chance to root for the Giants tonite. Even though I like Brady & Moss together, they are such a pleasure to watch in motion, I will root for Eli and the Giants because they are the underdogs.
What goes around comes around.    The harder I work, the luckier I get!!

The Lady Carver isn't as fervent a fan as you Patty, but after 40 years of marriage she's come around to enjoying an occasional game with me.  We'll watch the game quietly at home, no party.

Unfortunately, it may not be much of a contest.  It gets lost in the hype, I guess, but the Super Bowl is often anti-climatic. I'll pull for the Giants, but I'm not optomistic.

We'll channel surf during the half-time show.  Remotes have their advantages at times.  :)

I'm happy to be wrong.  Nothing anti-climatic about this one and the Giants won.  Play was a little sloppy at times, but there was also some exceptionally good play.  Tyree's catch being the prime example.  The first person Manning should thank for his most valuable player award is Tyree. Fun game to watch.

We sorta paid attention then the fourth quarter started. What a finish. Kept waiting for Eli to run out of miracles, he should have been down on the play to Tyree and what a catch that was. 8). It was certainly entertaining, we enjoyed Tom Petty too. Great show.

35 seconds from a perfect season!  Kaboom!!  What a great ending!
Brady's face looked gloom and doom.  He lost his confidence. Manning showed his poise.  What a storybook ending.

My Superbowl plans worked out a lot better than most plans do for me.  I sat next to my ol' Dodge wheel for most of the evening, burning little bits of scrap wood to keep my toes warm, enjoying a few barley pops, and cogitating about the issues of our times.  About 9pm, I came in to wake Linda for work and fix us a little supper.  I turned on the tube during the two minute warning, and watched the rest of the game with the sound muted.  The winning TD happened while I was stirring the grits, but I saw the replay.  Looked to me like some guy throwed the ball and some other guy caught it.  I would have thought that was pretty routine at that level, but everybody seemed to get real excited about it....at least the ones in the white shirts did. ::)

Well being born and raised a New England boy the outcome could have been better but the Giants earned the win. That said we had a great party ! My bro-in law and 2 nephews and my son and I shot off about 400 rounds through 5 different weapons at an appliance that failed us .Then we had a big feed and watched the game . Redneck life is good !

That’s a interesting concept Tim L.

I got a cash advance on my stimulus check from the friendly folks at PayDay Loan.  Bought me the biggest plasma TV I could find at Walmart.  Had nuff money left that I had the Outback Steakhouse cater me 30 meals.  Stocked up on the finest wine money could buy along with my favorite, Old Milwaukee Light.  Then...KFTA along with KNWA TV in Fayetteville Arkansas lost the signal and went off the air at 3:20 PM for the duration.

All my friends left and I had to eat 30 steaks by myself.  Kathy took the TV back to Wally World yesterday...think I’ll put the money towards...well you guys help me figure that one out.

So...can I shoot the TV stations? ;D

I burned a camper in the yard once (34 footer) then I got to spend quality time with our fire and police chief . "You can't do that " seemed like an odd choice of words since when they arrived all that was left was a smoldering black spot in the yard ! I think we're still friends but it was suggested strongly I don't do this again .

Got up about daylight Sunday, went out the back deck walkway a ways, greeted the morning as the squirrels began to gather looking for a little more of that dried cherry mix.

Came in, put the coffee on, and as I started putting on my clothes, it began to rain.  It was warm and the rain didn't last long, for which I was quite appreciative.  I had split and trimmed two big oak logs Sat evening after I got home from work, that a fellow had brought to be milled earlier in the week.

It was dark by the time I stacked and secured the lumber on his trailer.   The wife had supper on, doing its thing all by itself and she helped me restack some previously sawed cedar and straighten things up a mite.  By about 7:30, supper was ready she supposed, so we went and washed up and had at that.

I reckon it could be called 'super bowl', that beans, sausage, onions and cornbread I had all piled together.
