Maybe you've got an airlock in the system somewhere or one of the ports in the transmission is plugged.  If a port is plugged it will bubble just like as if you were in a pool of water with a high pressure water hose spraying against the pool wall.  The air bubbles are created by the disbursement of the air as it travels towards the vent or natural flow of air.  Usually this is towards the top of a hydraulic system, differential, crankcase etc.

Normally I would walk away from this machine. The reatlity is the machine belongs to the widow of one of my old classmates. She needs to sell it, I need to buy a bigger loader, just can't afford  to throw money away, regardless of the good intensions.
