More than just pictures
« on: June 26, 2007, 07:07:04 pm »
Been wondering what all those big words you forester types have been using.  Just discovered my tree book has more than pictures…it also has a glossary.  You foresters not gonna fool me no more with those words…course I may never know how to pronounce some.

I found it does help to know what those words mean.

Me and big dog decide to go woods walking this morning at first light.  Armed with my two tree books, few notes, and camera we set out.  We found pinnate, bipinnate, and catkins.  We were searching for the elusive yellowwood but found none.

What more could you ask for than a morning in the woods?

Nice picture, Larry.  Good too see that we forester types are having some influence around here ;D.  Speaking of yellowwood, I've found some of it in northwest Arkansas.  It was in one of the state parks - Petit Jean, if I remember correctly.  That sure was some beautiful country.

It was so humid yesterday in the woods I didn't know when it was showering from by brow sweat. Strap a brush saw on for 8 hours, and I was wet from toe nail to ear lobe. We had a down pour at the end of my day, and i thought I was swimming.  :D :D :D :D

Larry I think some of those words are made up. I can't find them in Webster's.  :D ;D
