Hi all!  Jeff, got my hat.  Many thanks.

Woodmizer had a problem yesterday:

Console read: Caution overload.  Then it went blank.  Motor was still running.  I shut it down and it would not crank. No power, no nothing.  30" x 20' log on the mill.  What to do?

CHECK THE BATTERY CONNECTIONS!.  One cable had vibrated loose and was apparently arcing until it shorted out.  All is well now.

We milled over 5000 BF of pine yesterday in Little Hope, Texas and today we plan to mill at least that much in Texarkana.  What a life!

Nice hat by the way.

Well, we got rained out this afternoon.  The mill is setting on a knoll overlooking the McKinney Bayou in Texarkana.  Should be dry enough tomorrow to finish.  I'm running 4 on the crew now.  Let two go because they seemed shy about hard work.  I have a couple of timberframers who fight over my time anymore.  They are framing an average of one house per week.  I'm cutting mostly 1 x 8, 4 x 8,  8 x 10, and some 12 x 12s.  I still have some customers who want to provide their on labor, so I usually invite them to watch another saw job before I get to their place.  When they see how fast my boys keep the lumber moving off the mill, they gladly pay for the labor.  BTW, the can of peas really work ( :D)

Seems that a loose battery terminal post or bad weather is about all that'll slow you down Joey, if for only a moment.  I'm reminded of a plackard on the Queen Mary moored in Long Beach, Ca. that I stayed on for a week one time, the plackard was relating to the awesome abilities and power of the ship and made referance to the head of steam it could generate.  The plackard said that at full steam you could throw the ships motors in full reverse and throw out the anchor at the same time and it would take a distance of twelve miles to bring the forward progress of the ship to a halt. Congratulations on the Head Of Steam you've generated in regards to sawmilling ! In the past thirteen months you've gone from ads in the local Thrifty Nickel and worring about where's my next work going to come from to selecting what factors you will allow to affect your progress of becoming more proficient. Quite an accomplishment !!  " Much success to you My Friend --Continue On and  Enjoy The Journey "
