It sure is yellow wood. And I'm guessing, whatever it is, it is a very commonly used wood species. Why do I say this? I was talking to a large sawmill operator one time on tour and they had a market in central America for wood. I forget which country. But, the big hangup was that they wanted 'yellow wood'. If they sent the typical fresh sawn white wood of spruce and fir, they thought something was wrong with it. So, to get it yellow they just let the air and sun hit it a few days, wrapped it, and shipped.

Received stamp of approval on the other end.  ::) ;D :D :D :D  8) 8) 8)

Pre-commercial thinning pays off. :)

Costa Rican Mulberry or Costa Rican Persimmon.   ;D
Full time custom sawing at the customers site since 1995.  Added homemade hydraulics to a 1988 manual WoodMizer LT40.

  IF I ever get back to the mill, I will take some picsof the trees, IF I remember the camera.
