Dat snowstorm was all the way over here in New Richmond, Wisconsin too (Western Wisconsin). We had temps in the low 30°s all day, snow and wind. More of the same tomorrow (Thursday). The snow didn't stick very long though.  It's too DanG early!!!

You're probably getting what we had this morning. It'll keep up all night then.....off and on. More predicted here tomorrow. I'll send it on your way when we're done with it.

Chet, I know you are a real nice feller and you love to share stuff with those that don't have but do me a favor close the door and keep all that white stuff and cold weather up there.  I'm beginning to doubt I will ever be ready for it again  :-\

I walked out to the barn to get some nails and a hammer and worked up such a sweat that I decided to sit down and have a glass of sweet Iced tea.  Might take a shower too.

It'll cool off some later.  It usually gets down in the 70's by the end of November or beginning of  December.  I'll stick my head back out in about a month and see if I want to go fuel up the truck.

It's gotta be Global Warming causing all this frigid weather and snow so early. ::) I personally think the government screwed up the weather when they punched a hole in the atmosphere with that DanG Space Shuttle. ;D

CHARLIE - What were you doing in Minong?  The cabin I'm going to be cutting wood at next week is only a little north of there but yet south of Solon Springs.  Used to buy a lot of beef at Link Brothers before they started turning it all into Jerky.

We got about 4" of snow last night and today and there's the possibility of another 5 to 8 tonight.  The drifts were deep enough in the lane tonight that the Dodge's axle was pushing snow ::)  It had an appointment for some exhaust work this AM and after slipping and sliding to Gaylord on the X-way it also got a couple new tires :)  I say we blame this crazy weather on Al Gore ;) ;D

Now why would anyone dislike snow? Snow is great, around here it keeps all the city folk off the roads and allows the neighborhood country bumpkin (me) to ride his ATV through the streets......

if they call for a inch or so, the brean and milk isles at the store get mobbed, people fill thier gas tanks.....

after 3 years of living in Fairbanks Alaska, nothing snow related fazes me much anymore....

Teri, where ya moving to? any ideas??? I thought you loved florida    ::)

DomR, I took my boat up to Link Recreational to have it winterized and stored for the winter. When I bought it, I got a real good 2 year deal from them. Next year I'll winterize it here and store it on my property..... I think.

I figured I was up close to your cabin, within 25 miles anyway. Just didn't know the direction.

Those Link brothers must own Minong............... :-\

My wife has four of her female cousins from Hudsonville staying at our house when they heard from home that winter had arrived in their homes.  Now they don't want to go home.  This is not good!!

We only have one bathroom for five women to share.  :o

I hope the snow stays to the west of New England, we don't need any of thet stuff for at least another month.

Just one or two flakes that you had to squint to see around here. 20 miles west of here, schools were closed and a driving ban was issued. 60 miles west in Buffalo, they got 1-2 feet of snow and the Governor has declared the region a disaster area. (Some feel that is a formal announcement of a pre-existing condition, but I digress. ;D) Trees are down (it's peak foliage and the trees are still leafed out) and power is out, some till Tuesday they figure. candle_smiley

I-90 was closed from Rochester to Dunkirk, a 90 mile stretch that left many irate travelers cooling their heels in the area.  smiley_furious

Well, according to many pundits, he'll declare his candidacy for the presidency.  smiley_heh_heh

If there is one place that knows how to handle winter, it's Buffalo. This caught everyone off guard. Downed trees and widespread power outages are the biggest problem.

The trees were what I was concerned about.
We have a large amount that are in poor shape, ready to go at any time.
Can't afford to have them removed and they are all full of leaves yet.
A heavy snow right now would be really bad!
We got hit hard 10 or so years back in the middle of October.
So far it's been blowing too hard to get much to stick around the last couple days.

I am only about 20 or so miles from some of the Buffalo area's that got buried with that wet snow but we have green grass here. The big problem in the area is downed power lines and trees all over the place. I was going to take my saw and truck and go up there and make some money but after seeing pictures of all the downed wires buried in limbs and snow I decided to stay home and relax. Some of my neighbors are summer people only and called me to check on their properties here at the lake. I told them it was nice here and we had power. They live in the area's that got blasted and have no power. I told them I would leave the light on for them if they could get out of the city. :D  :D I guess there are about 290,000 customers without power. Could be several days before it comes back on. Lots of those houses really need their sump pumps too, especially with all that melting snow. Lots of those high end housing developements around Buffalo are built in more or less wetlands.
