Jeff, did you have time to look around for the old Munising bowl factory?

Nope, we sure didnt Olin. We got into Munising after 8 pm, ate, then headed out for the long drive back to Detour Village. I forgot Greg's cabin is in the vacinity. Greg, what do you know about the bowl factory?

I know about Munisingware and there's a short bit about in the link I posted.  I'm quite sure the building burnt but I'm not sure if that was the end of Munising Ware or if it burned at a later date after production ended.  I'll ask Mom she'll know for sure.  They're up there right now. 8) 8) 8)

Man that looks like a great trip. You hit some of our favorite spots. When my wife and I go to the UP, we always try to spend a few days at Brimley State park. They have some campsites where you are only yards from Lake Superior. Hearing that water lapping at the sand makes it awful easy to go to sleep. Not far from the Soo for any big shopping ya might need to do, close to the casino if you feel like a good meal ( On friday and saturday nights they used to have AUCE crab legs and prime rib for about $15 a head ), lots of peace and quiet, and some great scenery. We used to hit the west end pretty heavy, out around Chets area, but the east end has been luring us there the last couple years.

Jeff, I haven't seen the sign or know where that cemetery hill overlook is, but would like to add that to our scenic stops, can you share some directions?

I'm not sure Marcel, but I always figured it was because they were scenic.

I thought it could of been one of those rocks that someone had put his hand print on a long time ago .

Had it been so    I would of asked for a pic of the print . I have seen a few of those , it always amazes me at how well they look for the time they have been there .

The info on the write-up at the lookout said that they were named Pictured rocks because of the colors of layers of Sediment that were layed down over hundreds of thousands of years.    ......or more. :D

I was of the same opinion as you, Marcel, and was amazed to read this on the plaque.

First off I need to say I really enjoyed the pig roast. It was great putting faces on names. Thanks Jeff and Tammy.
Say
Jeff, is this the same tree from a different angle?

Marcel, here are a few pictures from a trip this summer to Pictured Rocks. Most all of the cliffs are over 100 feet high
There are a few more in my galley.

Tom and I came across this old place in our travels this week. It looks like it could be haunted by pigman to me. ;D
