Here are 2 pics I took while I visited with MtnJack about a month ago. It turned out to be a great laerning experience for me.Next time maybe MtnJack will let me run his mill. Hopefully this will be the first of many lessons to come. I even got to bring home about a 100 bd/ft of walnut we sawed that day. The sawing came after we went and picked up 2 loads of cherry that he saved from being pushed over the hill at a nearby cemetery that was expanding. When I visit next time maybe Rod and Craigc90 could show up and we could really do some sawing as Jack has plenty of logs to be sawed.

I hope this works.

oops.

I couldn't cut and paste so I typed addresses in for images. Sorry Jeff. I'm puter literate enuf to be dangerous.

I'm a fairly dangerous man when it comes to these puters. I know just enough to get self into mind spinning predicament.
Well maybe Jeff or Ron can help me. The pics are on the forum server but I didn't successfully attach them to post.So much for first try. Hopefully I can get educated cause I have many more pics to post.

All of the real John Deeres are yaller. They just put that funny green color on the lawn mowers. ;D

The commercial ones are yellow the ag ones are green so when farmers buy a new one they can hide them in the field that way the banker doesn't find it when they come out to see why you need that extra cash for crops this year.

Sometimes they get dual use.

I used to sling logs like that on a front end loader but then I put a set of forks on my NH skid steer and log management is MUCH easier. I might have to break down and get a grapple tho, as I tend to make a mess trying to pick a certan log out of the pile.

The John Deere green/yellow paint turned out to be one of the problems I had buying parts for my old 1010 JD wheel tractor/loader/backhoe It was an Industrial tractor painted yellow but old and hard to find parts for, the JD dealer would always ask "what color is that machine?" and "are you sure there isn't green paint under the yellow"

Remember, nothing runs like a Deer or smells like a John ;D

It really works great.

 Thanks Bibbyman  8)

with your help I might get even more dangerous on this puter with posting pics . That was such a easy fix to my post so now we can see the pics twice. I knew it was something simple to fix I just didn't know how . They say knowledge is a powerfull  thing.I thought Whitepe works for Catapiller not John Deere?

Norm F i haven't been around many logging operations , But Mtnjack could move and load those logs fast with no assistence from me. I was impressed with how many logs you could haul on a one ton in one trip.

Those are some nice tractors you posted pics of .  I hope to buy a tractor soon to help me out on my 16 acres. That Farmi winch looks like the ticket. How much do they cost for one to put on a 50 - 80hp tractor?

Thanks for everyones patience and help

WV, I'm not sure what I paid for mine as I've had it for some time now, try this link for more info.

http://www.northeastimplement.com/newpage6.htm

I use the 501 series and seems to do just about everything I need it to. My only words of caution would be to not put it on too lite a tractor, sometimes when pulling big stuff I've seen it want to pull up the front end on my tractor.
