Kevin goes to camp.
« on: November 06, 2002, 04:34:52 pm »
Message from Kevin.

I`m off to Milwaukee for the International Tree Climbers Convention.
Be back on Sunday.
Try to behave.

I say we call his wife, find out what hotel he is in and take turns calling him every 15 minutes tomorrow night to make monkey noises. ;D

Everybody call and ask for Geroge.
Then call and say this is George, do I have any messages?

You'll have to wait for Kevin to find that out. :D

In my mind I keep picturing that woman sitting in the Redwood tree.

I think it's great to be able to climb trees as an adult and still get to go to conventions too!!!  Doesn't get any better than that.  Now I just have to convince the wife of that.

I think that climbing a tree is a fun and special thing too. My wife's interpretation is "Up a tree again, Huh?"

Spurs are out for me now but if the  limbs can be reached, I'm real quick to give it a try. Just being 6 feet off of the ground is special. :D

Where did you get the idea that Kevin is an adult? ;)

Years ago we had a guy secretary at the Mill. We left a note on his desk to return a call to a number and ask for a Mr. Lyon. He made the call and they promptly told him where he was calling and asked how they could help. He stumbled for a minute but still asked for Mr.Lyon and realized as it came out of his mouth what we did.

The Number was for the Detroit Zoo.  ;D

Point taken Jeff.  I don't think I'm that far behind him.  My wife is always asking me what I want to be when I grow up ;D  I tell her not to rush me, I'm thinking about it!

Noble_Ma,
The TCI takes place somewhere different every year.
There are arborist suppliers, chainsaw dealers, logging and firewood suppliers, on site training and demos of all kinds and much more.
I spent three full days there and enjoyed every minute.
Learned some new tricks and made some good contacts.
Here`s a link for the show ...

Huh? For what?

In case you need a ladder?
You decide to redecorate?
You find that you sawed off the limb you were setting on and the tree fell and you need advice?
A squirrel gets your nut?
You forget which way is down?
Cheetah gets gas?
Woody woodpecker decides he likes that Hollow headed Canadian sound?

I was up in Hillsdale, Ont just north of Barre this spring picking up my mill.  The people up there were some of the most friendly people I've met.  My traveling buddies and I had a great time in Barre and could have easily stayed a few more days if it wasn't for our "bosses" ;D  I think the next trip will be to Montreal!  All business of course ;D
