Value of Ford 6610 tractor
« on: February 03, 2006, 01:31:06 pm »
I have an opportunity to bid on a Ford 6610 Tractor (about 85 HP).   I don't know how much competition there will be in the bidding.  If I buy it, it will be to resell.  Everything works fine, it has been properly maintained, and tires are in good shape.  However, it has 9600 hours.  If I were buying it to use, I'd not be too scared of these hours because I know that it has been kept up, but to resell, I'm a little concerned about the ability to sell it in a timely fashion.  So, what would you guys think this would sell for on the open market?  I'll base my bid on planning to resell at this price.

Thanks.

My dairy farming cousins have had 2 of these tractors and the most recent one has cab,a/c,heat,stereo,power rear wheel adjustment,3point,540/1000 pto and bought it with 6000 hours for $8,700 .  The last one they got rid of had a cracked block after the machine shop told them it did and it would cost to re-assemble it and 4grand for a motor so they took a check for $1,500 from the dealer . Dealer put in a re-conditioned block and put it on their lot for $ 6,700 and no cab.  They love this make of tractor as it can do just about everything and they put a farmhand loader on it . Very economical sipper of the diesel juice . They have had to replace clutches a few times but they are what I call pedal riders . A very sought after tractor in dairy country

I got one. I have owned it since new and I wouldn't part with it. But I can only guess on the value with that many hours my thoughts would be about 5-6000. It just depends if this is at auction who wants it and how bad.
