I am running home made band mill w/27" throat, twin cylinder honda electric start, cantilever head, on a home made trailer.  I load logs by rolling them up ramps with a brush rake on the back of my Massey 135 tractor.   The logs are turned using the armstrong PV method (Peavy)  :D.  I find that since my full time job is behind a desk, if I don't saw for a month or so, that peavy can really make a man out of me......more than I wished.

Hudson Oscar 30, IH 404 w/loader, John Deere 425, numerous Linux-powered devices!, Lots of broken leftovers and plans to build stuff.  To invent you need 2 things, an active imagination and a pile of junk.
If you want something done correctly, you have to do it yourself.

A custom built bandsaw cantilever head with a 24 HP Honda twin cylinder engine.  It has a 27" throat and is on a 20' tailer.  Log loading and turning is manual however I push the logs up ramps with a 135 Massey tractor.  The log rolling is by pevey.......and can make a man out of me after a full day............. fun stuff.   I saw mostly english and black walnut off of my ranch here in Northern Calif.   :)

Hello Farmer77,

Welcome to the forum... 8)

Was down in Redding yesterday.  So you have walnut?  Awesome!

I've been wanting to make my own gunstock but a laminate like the Serrengetti stocks.  They slab a blank into 5 peices, then re-laminate it with the choice figure on the outside.

Makes for a stable peice of wood..  8) :)

I have a Hud-son Oscar 28 on a 17' custom flat bed.  I load logs by rolling them up ramps with a 6000 lb winch.  A stihl 361 does all the rest of the cutting.
