Pics from today (Workin with Dad)
« on: January 19, 2006, 09:46:35 pm »
Went out today and got some work done, my dad and I worked for about 4 hrs (that includes going to the mill) and got a real nice load. I love this stuff. What is even better is today we worked on clearing out were i will be building my house, I love working on my land! This is also something I can do with my Dad, I am finaly old enough to apreciate that. A shame we can't realize that earlyer (wow I sound old)

Well I guess no photos for now I can't get it to work in the gallery and not allowed to link, to big and when i down size them the quality is so bad u can bareky see them

You are old,  23 is DanG old to someone that is under 10. ;) ;D
Welcome to the forum. You will get the picture thing figured out, I did after two years. Of course I am a little older than you are so it probably will only take you two days. ;D

Looks like nice stuff.

My Dad and I get along great now that we both have mellowed some.  :D

My Father had to go into Electrical Engineering to support our family. And now I own tree plantations in Costa Rica so he loves to see what we are doing.

So, how did I end up here anyway?

Nice pics. Nice land. ;D  That woodlot reminds me of the woodlots in Southern Wisconsin farm country where I grew up.

Please manage that woodlot well.  Talk to a forester get a managment plan in place.  Take out what should be harvested, but do not over do it.  It is beautiful property. ;)

I whouldn't even think of over doing it, that hill is just about 1/5 of your forest. We marked 106 cherry tress and there is lots lots lots more, we cut nothing under 15" unless it has a proublem with it. we have some 19 20 we are leting go also because they are just good trees with no problumes. These woods have taken care of use and will for many years, we will take care of it. My dad bought this property in 2 purchases and all together it cost about $60,000 (ya for 40 acers with 2 houses and a 110' by 40' bank barn) wish i could get land for that now. It has brought us over $60,000 in timber alone over the years. Take care of your land and it will take care of you!

Looks like you and your dad are having fun .

we sold about 40,000 worth to yoder about 5 years ago but now we take ours to a local guy about 1 mile from me.
With all the amish woodworking done here we get good prices.
