I just made another 5lb order for the dark roast. Man I love that stuff.
I recently picked up a small espresso maker, pour in one cup water, hog down the lid, lock in the coffee and 2 minutes later... black gold!

A have learned that pound of coffee makes a great christmas, birthday, house warming or whatever gift.

Which reminds me of a joke I played over christmas.
This christmas we played the gift exchange game where one at a time each person picks a gift and opens it. The next person can take an unopened gift or take away any previous person's gift. I really like this game. I had an empty starbucks coffee bag, this is expensive coffee.
In it I put a package of frozen hot dogs, so they would stay fresh, and a roll of cressent roll dough and a note that read:

Congratulations you are the winner of
the delux pig in a blanket kit. Enjoy.

PS did you really think you were getting
Starbucks coffee at $15 a pound!!!

My sister in law got it... she never really liked me anyway...

While I'm on a ramble and my 3rd cup of coffee,

2 years ago we played the same game at work.
The week before my boss had come in with an old greazy vice that
he had cleaned out of his uncles garadge. He figured I would want it and he was right, but I could not resist adding it to the gift exchange. I found a box that a portable sterieo system had come in, put it in there and sealed the box but did not wrap it and put it on the table. When one of our admin ladys picked the gift I said,
"better open it and make sure that's what it is"
She sure was dissapointed when she saw that vice. Everyone else got a kick out of it.
Oh yea I even came into the party late and made a show of dropping it  on the table with
a loud CRASH! My boss knew what it was and cracked up.

and now I need to decide, have another cup or go run around the building a couple of times.

Weekend_Sawyer,

That is the same way that I make my coffee - with a small expresso maker. I use the double portion lid - I like mine strong.

Each cup is perfect and just made. It doesn't get much better than that.
So, how did I end up here anyway?

Yup, the worst coffee is coffee that has been evaporating for an hour, ugh.

I get my coffee from a fellow who visits with me frequently.  It seems to taste better when it shared with a friend than purchased from a faceless factory.

Just put in for another 5 LBS, I see I ordered 5 lbs 4 months ago but in that time I have also received a couple of lbs of guift coffee, unfortunatley some of it has been from uneducated non coffee slobs that don't know I like dark roast. I am able to get through it though.

Anyone else usng Tesoros Del Sol?

I've had a 10 lbs every month and a half or so habit of the green beans since I first heard about Tesoro Del Sol here over a year ago now I suppose. That is for three commited coffee drinkers. We love our coffee.
I roast it in the shop on a coleman stove and old style popcorn popper that has a crank/paddle mixer. I can roast about a pound at a time. Turns out well enough for us. The dark roast has lots of flavor and way less caffeine than the lighter roasts I'm sure.

Jon, we just got our second order. She went with only the dark roast this time. I'm not a coffee drinker, but I did try a cup from the first order.  It tasted just like I remembered it from 1972 or '73.

Looked in all the local stores (wal-mart as well as upper end cookware shops) for a coffee grinder made here in the USA. Gave up! Told her I'd mash 'em with a hammer before I buy a Chinese or Mexican made grinder with German and French names. We wound up borrowing from her mom an old hand-crank grinder. That's just a little way for me to say "I love you" eery morning by cranking that grinder.  It also help me keep in shape for the ice-cream churn!

I found the problem, their website has changed to tesdelsol.com

The link on the front page is currently incorrect (I hate to say wrong)

I'm sorry to hear that Jeff. The Forum certainly gave them enough business.
The discount code is still good.
