Amazingly this was in the courtyard of an Inn that was built by a Company owned Lumber Town.  The Inn is a remarkeable old building and weddings are held in this coutyard every year.  Recently they decided to remodel a lot of it and the courtyard had trees removed to make for more light.  This tree was cut and the stump pulled out 6 months later.  The stump was still wet and starting to strout.  Not only is it a great piece of wood, but it has a fabulous history behind it too.

I am happy to saw the wood looks pretty good! Here is a peice cut for a 2-peice gunstock.  It is obviously wet, but looks fairly nice for stock wood.

Looks fairly expensive also. :)  Good on you.  Save every little scrap...pen blanks, bottle stoppers, and who knows what else from the turners.  I like to get some stablized by this guy

to use as knife scales.

Nine out of ten trees recommend wood for your building project.
