Thought I would post some pictures of my first craft project with lumber from The Bandmill That I Built.
It's a 2" x 22" x 54" cedar top and the base is all from 1" SYP.

what is "denim" SYP, and why not make the whole thing out of cedar. the top looks be-u-ti-ful

Denim pine and don't step on my blue suede shoes.(wookboots with blue stain sawdust on um)

RB, that is pretty.

Regarding the 'denim pine'.... that is the first time I have heard that phrase, but I sure have seen blue stain. I didn't know that I could increase the value of pine so easily. I'll bet Levi pine would sell for even more; denim is too generic

It looks just like a dolphin fish to me... if they were red.

I can see it now, after a night of hitting the hooch, they'd walk over to it and say.............

I've seen the blue stain, never heard it called denim

Blue stain just has a poor sound to it, denim, now that sounds less like a fungus, I like the levi idea tho'.
I'll see if i can get some pics of the blue in the pine, hard to say, it's pretty subtle.

Hey Sandmar. You giving me ideas. How 'bout Strauss Pine? That sounds even more high-brow. Could put Loblolly up there in the Walnut category!

All I used was some MinWax Fast Drying Polyurethane. Only 9 coats

oh geez DanG, I really didn't mean to be giving you ideas,that could lead to cogitating and then we will all be in trouble $:-\$ but if you come up with something good that won't cause a law suit......I got plenty of that "Strauss Pine" I would let go of cheap

, but if your ever nearby, I could probably be persuaded to part withsome denim pine, seems most of what I have is like that.
