cup and ball game (bilbo)

As some of you know I was away in suffolk recently. My kids went in a museum place where there were all the old type of toys, spinning top, whip top, cup and ball etc. We bought them some modern remade versions. I've been playing with  the cup and ball quite a bit since. The cup has a length of string attached with a wooden ball on the end. You have to swing the ball and flick it into the cup. Best score so far-6/10. I was amazed however when I next picked up my axe, how my accuracy when hewing and fine trimming had noticeably improved, almost overnight :o (using a small but very sharp sandvik hand axe)
Highly recomended to develop fine precision hand/eye coordination. The old toys werent as dumb as they might seem!!
I also tried Mark's suggestion to hew with the wood on your right side even though your still using the axe "right handed", and was pleasantly surprised with that method as well. Handy to have both options to deal with any sort of grain orientation etc. smiley_thumbsup
