I can just see it now- I'll need another barn to store my stash after just a few years of sawing. :)

I have some really nice spalted maple for sell but then again I might just keep it. After all who deserves it more then me? ;)

Well 50%....not very good.  Have you been able to dry your white oak crotch check free?  I have been cutting a lot of bur oak crotches and have not had a lot of luck drying them...maybe one out of four.

  You saw them, dust off, anchor seal the whole board, sticker stack on the bottom of the pile and forget about them for a year or so.  Take to kiln and they come out pretty good.

The straighter logs the better, find true center cut through it and start 1/4 sawing.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
