Husky 385

I am looking to sell this Saw and looking for a good & fair asking price. The saw has been used very little, I don't even think it has 10 hours on it yet.

It is a 2004 model and I will include 2 new chains plus what is on the bar now...

There is nothing wrong with the saw. I have been undergoing changes in my life and no longer have use for it...

What value would you place on this...

Dave I'd be thinking if it's done 10 hours then that saw is worth almost what ya paid for it - maybe drop the price about $120 and sell the fact ya giving away the extra chains with it.

As someone that sells a lot of E-Bay when pricing anything used, figure 60-70% of what NorthernTools.com sells it for in their catalog.  A Husky 385 is $830, so used that is $498.00. That is a lot of money to sell something used, sight unseen on E-Bay, with no warranty, and it comes close to the $500 item warranty limit from E-Bay. So, I would start at $400 tops. I would not bother with a reserve, many buyers myself included skip auctions with reserves or hidden bidders.

If you purchased yours from a local dealer, you probably paid in the neighborhood of $800 + sales tax.

I am very interested in purchasing a 385, but in reality, I doubt I would purchase one, sight unseen......at ANY price.....unless it was sold somewhere like Ebay.

I have a boat anchor (also refered to by Husqvarna as model 575) that I used for 3 days.  In reality, I'd be doing back flips if I could get $500 out of the boat anch......  fine saw.  The reality is that used saws depreciate rapidly.

Seriously though, what can ya do to 'em in such a short space of time that would make then worth only 70% of their original price - typically I would think a 385 is a serious chainsaw, not a hobbyist job, so the fella sellin it (you'd think) has got it to work with and therefore will look after it?
