Wisconsin Engine

Our Mill has a Wisconsin 35 on it, 449 Hrs.

I changed the plugs, Air filter, and oil filter. It still will not idle down without stalling, starts hard, and runs rough. Anyone have tune up specs for the Motor.

Any other suggestions would be helpfull, Thank You,

Had a manual with my 96 Wood-Mizer but it went with the mill when I sold it.  Didn't you get one with your mill?  

One of the first things I'd check is for moisture under the distributor cap,  cracks in the cap,  bad wires,  gas filter for sure, etc.  Check to see if any vacuum hoses are off (don’t remember if there even are any?).  Then maybe timing.

Otherwise really liked the Wisconsin engine.

Bibbyman, No we didn't get anything with the mill for the engine. Sure would have been nice but it wasn't with the instructions. I will have to spring for the book I guess.

I will venture a guess here.  Change the cap and rotor, fuel filters... sometimes there is one hidden in the carb where the fuel line attaches.  Check for water in the fuel tank.  It sounds like a carburator / fuel delivery problem more than anything.  I would start with the filters and check for contaminated fuel.  If that is not the problem check for restricted (plugged) fuel lines.  Next check the output of the fuel pump... fuel pumps usually give you problems at higher RPM's so I doubt this is a problem.  If you replace and check all of these that leaves you to a probable carb rebuild or cleaning.  Try running a few tanks with a carb / fuel injector cleaner additive in the gas.  If that doesn't work you will have to rebuild or replace the carb.

Probably is a fuel filter in the tank as well,  just a thought.
